Comedian Cory Kahaney has written a new play, Pastrami on Rye With Mayo, in which she will be starring on Wednesday, November 4 with three other comics -- Ross Bennett, Tom Cotter, and Brad Zimmerman.
Kahaney, a veteran of the Catskills Borscht Belt, continued to entertain in the few remaining bungalow colonies after most of the big hotels closed.
She has performed one-woman shows on Comedy Central and HBO. Every Christmas Eve, she does a comedy night in Philadelphia called the Moo Shu Jew Show.
Pastrami on Rye with Mayo is an obvious reference to a sandwich likely to be ordered in a Jewish deli by a non-Jew or anyone who is not into Jewish food. It also alludes to the interactions in the play between the four comedians, two of whom are not Jewish.
The play will be performed at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in lower Manhattan Wednesday night at 7 pm. For tickets, $15 adults, $12 students/seniors, call the box office at (646) 437-4202.
