When we started the weekly joke, we relied pretty heavily on the joke inventory of Old Jews Telling Jokes. But as we started our lecture tour, we found that members of the audience were anxious to have their jokes heard as well.
It started at Kutsher's in the Catskills at the beginning of July, and that's why most of the July jokes came from the videos that we took in the lobby of that venerable resort hotel.
At the end of July, we gave a presentation at a 55+ gated community in New Jersey, and when we offered a few minutes of fame to anyone who wanted to share a joke, we found some good customers. Hence, Jersey Jews Telling Jokes, a new series which will apppear for the next four Mondays.

ReplyDeleteThis is great...howver, would it be possible for you to take the old Jews to an area where there are not people talking?? The same problem existed with the Catskill folks. The noise from the people talking in the background is not only distracting, but it makes it hard to hear.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, of course. But please understand, this is a work in process and sometimes it's hard to find a quiet place. I'm sorry it's hard to hear but we moved in closer this time and being close to the jokester and showing their full face makes it a bit easier. We'll try to improve on this over time. When you book us for your organization, try to identify a place ahead of time that would be relatively quiet and better suited to this audience participation.
DeleteI am old but I heard it fine, Please keep this series going. Doubt that you will ever get out this way buy if you get a chance, Wyoming is a great state--probably not that many Jewish comedians but we do like a good laugh. Ed
