Jewish Traces in Unexpected Places: An Orthodox Jewish Choir Sings in an English Monastery

Kirkstall Abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastery in Kirkstall, north-west of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England.

Last week it was the site of a special event celebrating multi cultural faith and diversity sponsored by the Leeds Faiths Forum.

One of the groups participating in the event and singing Adon Olam was the choir of the United Hebrew Congregation, an independent orthodox synagogue operating under the auspices of the Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth.

This is the 21st version of Adon Olam around the world that we have posted since the start of Jewish Humor Central in 2009. We expect to post many more versions.

In this video the words to Adon Olam were printed on a large banner held by a group of kids. Two of the words are incorrect. Can you tell which ones?

Enjoy and Shabbat shalom!
