Jewish Traces in Unexpected Places: Shalom Aleichem in the Streets of Seoul, South Korea
Busking, or street performing, is a specialty in the Hongdae area of Seoul, South Korea. Latest trends show dancing and other performances beyond music. These performances often require active involvement of the audience.
Rahel, an Israeli guitarist, has performed many Hebrew songs in the streets of Seoul and also at the beach in Busan. We found a recent rendition of Shalom Aleichem that we're sharing with you today to welcome another Shabbat.
Enjoy, and Shabbat Shalom!
