Throwback Thursday Comedy Special: Jon Stewart's Stand-up Network Debut in 1992
Jon Stewart is best known for hosting The Daily Show from 1999 to 2015. But before achieving fame as a political satirist, he was a stand-up comedian.
Two years after his college graduation in 1984, Stewart (who changed his name from Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz) started a stand-up comedy career with many late night sessions at The Bitter End and The Comedy Cellar.
Stewart felt his career did not take off until his March 1992 network debut on NBC's Late Night with David Letterman.
On this Throwback Thursday, let's set the clock back 26 years to a video of that appearance.
Enjoy!
